Spring 2011
South West Academies' development continues apace, and we are delighted to have signed a contract to provide it with ongoing marketing support. See the previous news item for more on this exciting organisation. We have recently provided training to Gloucestershire property company B Walker & Co in running the content management system of their own website, built by us and our partner last year. Another job recently completed is a new prospectus for our longest-standing education client, Bredon School. Work on a similar publication for Queen Elizabeth's School, Barnet, is now well underway. In fact, we've been working on a number of interesting jobs for QE, including an HTML e-newsletter to be distributed among its old boys. We're working with Bristol Cathedral Choir School to promote corporate lettings as its last major new building, a magnificent theatre, comes on stream early this summer. Finally, we are delighted to be helping a new client in the charitable sector - the Bujagali Trust, which does great work among children in Uganda.
New Year 2011
We seem to have started 2011 with a bang, working on a website and supporting print publications for South West Academies (SWA) in Bristol. SWA is a fascinating example of how the state-sector education landscape is changing in this country: it's a members' organisation of four Academies and the Society of Merchant Venturers. Already, it's offering a range of courses and training for teachers, and in the coming months they will be adding services such as HR support, Estates & Facilities Management and Governor Support - all of it available to non-member schools.
Other major projects on the go include a full new prospectus for one of our long-standing independent school clients, Bredon School - a boarding school on the borders of Gloucestershire and Worcestershire. In addition, our work with Free Schools is moving forward, with the development of a start-up marketing package, specifically aimed to assist the Free School sector.
Our Director, Paul, is looking forward to the special Commemoration Service in St Paul's Cathedral next month marking the legacy of John Lyon and the Harrow Foundation. John Lyon was the founder of Harrow School and also gave his name to The John Lyon School. Finally, it was great fun helping out when Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales came to speak at morning assembly at Bristol Cathedral Choir School, one of our Academy clients.
Winter 2010/11
Larger recent projects have included a package of materials for a client's Sixth Form welcome evening, which involved banners for each academic department, a glossy brochure/leaflet and a branded Powerpoint presentation. We've just started work on a new general prospectus for one of our longstanding independent school clients. And we are working with Bredon School to promote the launch of its new Reception Class in September 2011. There's plenty in the pipeline too, including the development of a cost-effective marketing launch package for smaller schools, such as the Free Schools currently being planned.
Summer 2010
Our project to design a new prospectus and associated literature for The John Lyon School in Harrow is now nearing completion. We've also been busy for another London client, Queen Elizabeth's School, Barnet. As well as the regular website content and newsletters we produce for QE, we've also just completed a new version of their Covenant Fund brochure featuring our artist's impression of the impressive plans for a new Library and Dining Hall.
February 2010
Edge Media is now moving in high places! - director Paul Herbert was formally introduced to HRH The Princess Royal at Bristol Cathedral Choir School's official opening as an Academy. To mark the occasion for BCCS, we produced a special eight-page souvenir edition of Key Notes, the school's termly newsletter.

Following on from the work we did last year for a couple of the Oasis Academies in Bristol, we've now been asked to take over the content management and promotion of the Bristol Academies website (www.bristolacademies.org) for DCSF. An interesting assignment. We're looking forward to the arrival of another French intern, Emmanuelle, after Christmas.
September 2009
One of our regular clients, The John Lyon School in Harrow, has a new Head, Katherine Haynes, who started there this month. She has commissioned us to produce a new glossy prospectus and related documents.
Spring 2009
We've been working to expand our local business alongside our national schools work and have just won a couple of interesting local contracts. Working with our partners, Chroma Design, we're producing a replacement website for B. Walker & Co - a well-known company in this part of Gloucestershire, with extensive property rental, construction and plumbing interests. We've also begun work on various new publications (leaflets, folders etc) for A Nichols (Cowmills) Ltd, a long-established agricultural supplies company with bases in Chipping Sodbury and Warmley, near Bristol. The office is a little quieter now that Fany, our French intern, has gone back to Bordeaux. A la prochaine!
Winter 2008/09
Our French intern from Bristol’s twin city of Bordeaux has arrived. Fany Demion, a business student, will be with us for three months. We’re also looking forward to the arrival soon of a new graphic designer.
November 2008
It has been a busy autumn. Hot on the heels of moving offices, we have installed a new phone system and a new IT infrastructure.
We have also been busy with work, but have finally found time to launch this new website. Please check for regular updates and news.
